Schlagle Scholars Bowl Information…

A Message from Ms. Wolf about Scholars Bowl

Hello all,

I’m Ms. Wolf, the new coach for the Schlagle Scholars Bowl Team this year. I hope you’ve all been doing well during this unusual year! We’re currently trying to recruit new members for the team, and I am reaching out to see who might be interested in joining. For those of you who don’t know, Scholars Bowl is an activity which involves going to other schools and competing in teams to answer different types of academic/trivia questions. These range from everything from language arts and math to current events and foreign languages. It’s basically like a trivia game but as a school activity. I did Scholars Bowl back in high school and always had a really fun time!

As a team member, you would attend team practices (most likely online for now) once a week or so, and come to tournaments when you are available (they’re usually in the afternoons right after school). It’s not completely clear yet to what extent the tournaments will be in-person vs. online this year, but for in-person tournaments, there is always food provided! Scholars Bowl also looks nice on your transcript for colleges, and it’s just a fun way to be a part of a team and meet new friends. Also, you absolutely do not have to be knowledgeable about all of the types of questions to participate. There’s really something for everyone. Do you really enjoy science class? You can answer the science questions! Love to keep up with the news? Then the current events questions are for you! Speak another language? You can show us all your awesome translating!

I think that we’re going to have a great time this year, and I really hope that you’ll consider joining us! If you are interested in joining and/or would like more information, please just send me an email.

Thank you!
