In-Person vs. Remote Learning…

KCKPS Wants to Hear from You

On Tuesday, February 23rd, the Kansas City, Kansas School Board voted to bring all students back for in-person learning starting on Monday, April 5th.  You may remember, back in November the district asked all parents and guardians to make a choice if they wanted their child to go to in-person or remain remote through the school year.

Starting today, if you want to change that decision, you will need to take action now.

Remote Learners (for the remaining school year)

If you picked for your child to remain remote throughout the 2020-2021 school year, but now want to move to in-person in April, you need to reach out to your child’s school and notify them of that wanted change.

You have until the end of the day on Wednesday, March 3rd to notify your school of the changes.

In-Person Learners (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Wednesday will be a remote day for all students except for Part-Day Preschool students.)

If you picked for your child to move to in-person during the 2020-2021 school year, and now you would like your child to remain in the remote learning platform, you need to contact your school.

You have until the end of the day on Wednesday, March 3rd to notify your school of the changes.

Did not respond to earlier survey?

If you did not fill out the needed information earlier, the district also needs to hear from you.

If the district DOES NOT hear from you by the end of the day on Wednesday, March 3rd — your child will automatically be enrolled for in-person learning.

Want to stay with earlier selection?

If you are happy with your previous selection, no action is needed.

If you have questions, you can reach out to your school or Student Services at 913-551-3200.
